Mindful Aging: Supporting Brain Health in Midlife and Beyond
Presented by Amy Karas, SLP
If you have ever wondered:
• Is it normal to forget names or have trouble finding the right word?
• Why does it sometimes take longer to think things through or make decisions?
• Why do I feel mentally drained after busy days or long conversations?
• Why can't I stay focused or juggle multiple tasks like I used to?
• How can I support my memory, thinking, and daily cognitive skills as I age?
Is this normal aging… or something more?
This Mindful Aging Workshop helps you understand your brain and provides practical strategies to support memory, word finding, focus, and everyday communication. You’ll learn why thinking or decision-making may feel slower, how to manage mental fatigue from busy days or long conversations, and techniques to strengthen attention, multitasking, and overall cognitive skills.
Led by a licensed speech-language pathologist specializing in cognitive communication and healthy aging, this 3-week course gives you a toolbox of evidence-based strategies to better manage everyday thinking and communication as you age.

Mindful Aging is led by Amy Karas, MS, CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist trained specifically in cognitive communication and brain function. Rather than generic “brain hacks,” this course provides evidence-based education about normal aging, early warning signs, and practical strategies you can use in daily life. It is grounded in clinical expertise, not trends.
This Mindful Aging workshop includes:
Two live sessions in person or on Zoom (60 minutes each)
Interactive discussion and Q&A
Practical handouts and strategy tools
Access to session recordings if you miss a session
All live sessions will be recorded and shared with registered participants. While attending live allows for discussion and Q&A, you will still have access to the full educational content if you cannot attend one of the sessions.
Cognitive changes can feel subtle at first. People often notice a missed word, difficulty concentrating, and/ or increased mental fatigue. It’s easy to dismiss them or quietly worry about what they might mean. Investing now allows you to replace uncertainty with understanding.
The earlier you learn what is "normal" and what deserves your attention, the easier it is to reduce unnecessary anxiety, increase confidence and empower you to be intentional in your cognitive health.
I’m happy to connect with you. If you’re unsure whether this course is the right fit or would simply like more information, please reach out to me directly. I welcome your questions and am glad to help you decide if Mindful Aging is right for you.
